Taprikk Sweezee - Conversea
Soul vocalist Taprikk Sweezee drops his second solo EP” as a split between Musik Aus Strom and Zoik Musik. ‘Conversea’ boasts production from Funkstorung’s Michael Fakesch on four tracks teetering between crunched glitch-hop and refined neo-soul, kinda like Jamie Lidell if he’d continued his Super Collider project a little further. The Lidell comparisons are inevitable unfortunately as Taprikk nails that same blend of warmly handsome vox with electronics, only his has a slightly noirish touch best heard on the starnge strings edits of the title track, or in the Portishead styled ‘Runner’.
