At the crossroads of electronic and instrumental music, Jean-Philippe Gross develops a physical relationship with sound, playing with ruptures and acoustic phenomena.
In concert, he plays with a dedicated feedback system (no input mixing). In the studio, he continues his research with a “Serge modular system”. (quotation marks by himself, I’m wondering why)
Here is quite a number of fairly short tracks, intrigueing whizzes, crackles and grainy noises, sounding like he tries out different sources and patchings each time, only slightly modulated at points.
Listening to these on headphones or over a good sound system will give you some great sonic massages!
