Plan Kruutntoone - Een Mooi Pak
If you ask us: 3 bands stand out for their ability to have developed an original sound out of their (70s-80s) punk roots and their being from the Netherlands. The Ex of course, but, in Dutch language, it’s De Kift and Plan Kruutntone. P.K. after a long silence came up with this (yes!) concept album based on the life & works of Jan Yoors (1922-1978), who spent much time travelling with gypsies and standing up for them in World War II. Knitting sketchlike & atmospheric music (guitar, double bass, brass, drums, tapes, samples) through strains of texts from his book it turned out to be all about ‘…the (im)possibilities of freedom; the fear to live life, as opposed to the will to live, love, eat and spend at least a million… inspired by Yoors we formed our version of an orchestra for weddings, funerals, births and escapes’. (Plan Kruutntone) – But, hey, that’s not all! This CD comes in a special surprise bag with little items in it that make each copy unique. Plus of course a thick booklet with all you need to know.
