A Table And a Chair is the new electric guitar duo of Aart-Jan Schakenbos and Arvind Ganga, two musicians that have been around in the avant-rock and improv scene in The Netherlands for ages! I found their duo-sound instantly appealing because of its clear tonalities and their  consistent approach.

This project explores colliding overtones and the melodies, harmonies and rhythms that emerge from them. Two guitars tumbling over and spinning around each other, creating massive structures as they go. Made with guitars, but definitely not guitar music. I would describe it as minimal music, using phase-shifting to create ever-evolving textured soundscapes. The CD (factory-pressed) comes in a beautifully designed packaging, designed by Schakenbos. This is when jewel boxes can suddenly look attractive!
