In Summer Semester 2000, Stephen Travis Pope was invited to be the first Varese guest professor at the Technische Universitaet Berlin; he was followed by the acoustician Diemer de Vries, as well as the composer Gerhard Eckel, David Behrman, Gottfried Michael Koenig, Hans Tutschku, Trevor Wishart, Alberto de Campo, Daniel Teruggi, and Kees Tazelaar. Each is introduced with a brief summary of their life and work.
