This vinyl picture disc came out parallel with a sound installation by Dirk van Lieshout in the Amsterdam neighbourhood Kattenburg. Six specially manufactured metal sewer manhole covers were placed, each playing a short audio-story about uproars and activism in Amsterdam through history. The soundtracks to the stories were made by Lukas Simonis (a Rotterdammer, ha!). All texts are in Dutch! So if that is no problem, these are highly enjoyable musical stories. Including a really nice cover of “Story 16” by the Amsterdam garage band The Outsiders.
