IT DEEL is the multi-year project of the brothers Jan and Romke Kleefstra, together with Popfabryk; production house for Frisian pop culture.

For IT DEEL III they collaborated with the Belgian multi-instrumentalist Karen Willems. Together they worked in the Thomaskerk in Katlijk and the result is beautiful.
It had to be, considering the quality of each of the participants.
Poet Jan Kleefstra and guitarist Romke Kleefstra have proven to create worlds of contemplation and sensitivity all their own, which people may have heard via ensembles like Piiptsjilling (with Rutger Zuydervelt) championing awareness of the universal connection between people and nature via poetry and music.

The Belgian multi-instrumentalist Karen Willems is active in various fields. Started as a drummer in rock and pop groups, then went on to present several projects involving improvised music and sound art. Just like the Kleefstra brothers, Karen Willems is intrigued by the forests, landscapes and nature which you can hear in all her work.

Karen Willems: drums, percussion, objects, effects, vocals, synth, field recordings
