The result of a joint effort of composers/artists Rune Søchting and Jonas Olesen.
Together they explored the sonic potential of electromechanic movements, resonance and different modes of transmission of sound. In their investigations they focused on the unpredictable effects that emerge in unstable systems. Integrated unconventional objects and electroacoustic processes such as transducers mounted on glass, worn-out microphones, small devices such as bells, clocks, etc. were mounted and connected in often fragile structures. Unexpected sonic phenomena come from these structures, picked up by various types of microphones and coils. The resulting sonic imprints of the tiny movements and fluctuations have then been dramatically amplified and subsequently channeled through other objects that have served as acoustic and strange resonant “containers”.
This all sounds pretty complex but what I hear are series of small sonic events, in a calm pace, without much effects trickery, quite natural and clear. For the attentive, curious and open-eared listener!
