GREEN DESERT contains the latest electronic soundscapes from composer,
live electronic performer and guitarist Huib Emmer. This is not a dry
sandy desert, but an urban Desert of barren desolate cities that have
almost been deserted by the people who lived there. They are cities of
the past and present, where streets are shattered, cinemas empty and
hotels are abandoned. All eleven pieces on the CD form a kind of
storybook on this theme. They are musical stories expressed in terms of
noises, tones, weird organs and grinding beats. But even though the CD
evokes a certain darkness, its sound is highly aesthetic and
unpredictable.
