Jan Peters - …but I still haven’t figured out the meaning of life
German film maker Jan Peters’ fame came with his biographical cycle ‘Ich bin..’ that started in 1990 with ‘Ich Bin 24’ but was unintentional at first. There are 16 of these films of 2 or 3 minutes each, the last of which (Ich Bin 40) dates from 2006. With a dense textual and visual system of symbols he blurs the individual Jan Peters to create a fictional character.
