Yuri Landman is known as builder of hybrid string instruments as well as ‘conventional’ guitars for bands like Sonic Youth, Half Japanese, Enon, Lou Barlow, dEUS, and HEALTH. One of his best known inventions is the Home Swinger, his own adaptation of the Moodswinger, a 3rd bridge guitar. The Ensemble consists of 8 Home Swingers, several guitars, bass, drums and the Landmine Electric Long String Instrument. Some tracks also feature instruments like the electric Psalterion, and Caterpillar Drum Guitar.

This is a release well worth checking out: good production, fresh compositions full of original ideas and methods, a well-balanced mix of rock-attitude, experimental instrumentation and poetry. Packaged in style with Jad’s characteristic paper-cut artwork on the front.
On side A: the title piece with a text recited by Jad Fair, is 22 minutes long. Side B has various shorter songs & pieces written by Landman, Rene van Lien and Philippe Petit. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Philippe Petit and Arnold van de Velde (of the Ex)
