The Static Tics are: Henk Bakker – bass clarinet, beats, voice, electronics and Lukas Simonis – prepared guitar, voices, electronics. Through the years, The Static Tics remained at the core of the WORM Radio department, making radioplays, documentaries and radio magazines. Static Tics is inspired by the similarity between people with the Syndrome of Giles De La Tourette and people that do experimental or improvised music. This new album is absolutely very enjoyable. It wavers between contemporary, kind of abstract sound, People-Like-Us type plunderphonics, anti-generic, powerful guitar parts and al-over weirdness. For some reason it could only have come from the WORM studio sweatshop . . . sorry, but it’s true.
