An album-length piece, commissioned by Kunst zum Hören ORF Ö1 and Radiophrenia. It is a sensitive work where radio art and field recording composition pioneer Brunhild Ferrari revisits and recomposes her impressions of the past and her sensory reminiscences. Released in 2025.

“Errant Ear was composed with this feeling of wandering, of strolling in my memories that I was able to capture with my ears, my eyes, my nose, all my sensations, things that my life is made of and that I keep almost like treasures. Here, I feel free to enjoy surprises, to rediscover my memories, to give them new life. I had the pleasure of using sound moments lent to me by Luke Fowler, Chris Watson and Luc Ferrari, and I mixed them with my own recent recordings and some of my archives from the 1970s onwards—albeit sometimes with painful joy.”

“Capriccio for Velasca, which I originally called Wolfoot after my friend, the artist Wolfgang Natlacen, who asked me to compose a piece for the football team he founded in Milan in 2015. So I had to create in my imagination a football match – I’d never watched one before – and I looked for sounds that I hoped would encourage the players and make it fun for everyone, with or without a goal.”
