Schlammpeitziger - Augenwischwaldmoppgeflöte
Jo Zimmermann Electronic musician, performance artist and illustrator from Cologne, Germany. Born in 1964.
Zimmermann began experimenting with synthesizers in the mid-1980s. His first device was a Casio CZ230-S, whose sound became characteristic of the typical Schlammpeitziger sound. In 1989, Zimmermann met musician Jörg Follert (Wechsel Garland). Together with Follert and two other musicians, they formed the band Hal’s Dream, which broke up after only a few performances.
From then on, Zimmermann produced alone and created the fictional character Schlammpeitziger in 1992. He chose the pseudonym in reference to the mud loach fish. In 1993, his debut album Erdrauchharnschleck was released on the Cologne label Entenpfuhl as a limited edition of 100 compact cassettes. The album was remastered in 1998 by Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma (Mouse on Mars) and re-released in 1999 as a vinyl record on Entenpfuhl, with four tracks removed due to the shorter running time.
The album Augenwischwaldmoppgeflöte is from the year 2000.
