4 Conversations with/ avec Tijs Goldschmidt, Evelyne Reeves, Joris Luyendijk, Zoe Gray. The artists/ editors, Robert Hamelijnck and Nienke Terpsma are celebrating 10 years (!) of Fucking Good Art with a new issue made for Play Time, biennale of Les Ateliers de Rennes, 2014, curated by Zoë Gray. This occasion was marked by a solo presentation at Cabinet du Livre d’Artiste (University of Rennes), showcasing 10 years worth of Fucking Good Art and a bilingual publication, dedicated to the question that (most) artists are unresolved about: the boundaries between work and play. Taking inspiration from Johan Huizinga and his famous Homo Ludens, the authors have brought together 4 interviews in which this topic is highlighted from different angles. In this account of “art meets social science”, the experts share their notions of business and play, money and labour, work and passion, to name but a few of the subjects that crop up. A thought-provoking and enjoyable read at the same time: the best of both worlds (work and play).
