Andrei Tarkovski - Solaris

Solaris is A remarkable film by Andrei Tarkovsky from 1972 based on a 1961 science fiction novel by Polish writer Stanisław Lem. It follows a crew of scientists on a research station as they attempt to understand an extraterrestrial intelligence. This intelligence takes the form of a vast ocean on the titular alien planet. The novel is one of Lem’s best-known works.
A psychologist is sent to a space station orbiting a planet called Solaris to investigate the death of a doctor and the mental problems of cosmonauts on the station. He soon discovers that the water on the planet is a type of brain which brings out repressed memories and obsessions. What will happen when dreams become reality? The crew of a spaceship are terrorised by their dreams come true.
