A sound recording never preserves quite what it claims to preserve. Aspects are missing and alien elements introduced. On this CD there are many voices (from old records & wax cylinders), but the surrounding noises are what draws the listener’s attention. This album from 1995 related to DeMarinis’ installation of the same name (1993) that deployed a series of improbable devices to play ancient phonograph records, inscribed clay pots and holograms of records with lasers.  The CD is not new but in good state, same goes for the cover.
