Blaastaal from Antwerp, Belgium, are geniuses of cut-up radioplays and absurdism, with Antwerp’s veteran indie-radio station Radio Centraal as their most important medium. Their talent lies in combining snippets of spoken word from wherever (in Dutch/Flemish, sorry) that were never meant to be funny. It all comes down to spotting iditoic topics, weird dialects and singular voices. And rearranging them in a surprising way. Vlieg Varken op het Platteland is a rehash of an Indonesian language course for Flemish. Amazing.
