The music on this album is made with samples from Latin American 78 rpm records, that were part of the collection of Captain Lucas de Ruyter van Steveninck, compiled when he worked for KLM airways in the 1950s to 1980s. In this period he also made amazing photographs, later compiled in the book “All Kinds” (2017). The characteristic folk music from the Andes, the energetic and moving Cumbia, Mambo and Rumba are here given a new life via Vinkepeezer’s alchemist composing.

The record incudes a booklet with a selection of the above-mentioned photographs, and is housed in a brilliant-looking cover designed by artist Pieter Bijwaard.
