Compiled by the sound and record aficionados Rob Millis and Jefferey Taylor, Victrola Favorites were originally intended as a 1920’s parlor listening experience: 78 rpm shellac records played on a wind-up Victrola phonograph. A chunky book and 2 CD’s (with 48 tracks) are a testament to this ongoing research into oddball early recordings, rare world music, vintage jazz, blues and other antiquarian samples, unearthing a secret history of sounds and objects of yesteryear’s popular culture.
