The book ‘Experimental Film in the Netherlands since 1960’ contains essays by Edwin Carels, Nelly Voorhuis and Sally de Winter, sixteen thematical interviews with filmmakers and an extensive filmography. The DVD contains the documentary ‘Cadavre Exquis’ about the work of five independent experimental filmmakers in the Netherlands. It gives an idea of the diversity within the genre of experimental film, with the weatherworn dreamscapes of Henri Plaat, abstract animations by Joost Rekveld, the bizarre underwater world filmed by Gerard Holthuis, Lonnie van Brummelen’s images of a frozen citydynamics en Jeroen Eisinga’s version of Merijntje Gijzen’s comeback.
