Martijn Hohmann and Marc Heijmans - Trendel
Another singular release on Martijn Hohman’s Universaalkunst, this one came out in 2007 in an edition of 100 copies. It’s a single sided 12″, played at 45 rpm, and the other side has a silkscreen print. Hohmann and Heijmans dedicated this to a certain Arthur van Keppel, and I get the feeling he was a friend. A musician with a great drive and dedication, which we can hear from a voice mail message on the first track. Overall, vinyl crackle, looped grooves and pink noise define this 3 track record, as a record player was used playing records treated with a mezzotint rocker, a rubberband, and water. On the cover is a picture of van Keppel.
