Wonder - Desdemona Died – A Tale Told By Wonder

Desdemona Died – A Tale Told By Wonder is the name of this unique experimental record by poetess Allen-SmithWonder. Wonder combines her creative life as a poet with painting, writing short stories, short films and playing records. And the album seems to reflect this. Her love for words is interwoven with music that immediately suggest imagery. Initially the album started out as a short avant-garde play inspired by Shakespeare’s Othello. Wonder re-wrote her own version of the play using beats and samples to tell the story from a females point of view (that is: Desdemonas point of view). Soon after that she started working together with producer mr.vilt describing the different phases of love through her thoughts and through his eclectic musical melting pot. And thus the album was born. The music by mr. vilt brings out her sensuous sighs, enhances her words and accompanies her fire, as it ranges from hip hop based beats to surreal classical cut up samples. The EP is a limited edition gatefold including all poems placed in collectable art-work.
