Written for the occasion of Daniels’ retrospective exhibition in the Dutch Van Abbe Museum ‘An Exhibition is Always Part of a Greater Whole’. A chronological overview of his paintings, drawings and sketches, as well as his personal history. He was an upcoming and much appreciated artist from 1976 to 1987 until he had a stroke and was uncapable of working for a long period. In 2006 he finally started painting again despite his handicaps. Also included are 3 exclusive interviews from 1983, and some essays written specially for this publication.
