Issue #103 of the Dutch ZONE 5300 comic magazine: The Finland Special. ZONE 5300’s editors made a very personal choice out of a huge collection of Finnish comics. From feminist-engaged stories by Tiitu Takalo (It’s A Wonderful Life) to raw Bukowski-like work by Jarno Latva-Nikkola (Thee en bier), and from the beautiful children’s book-like drawings of Terhi Ekebom (Wat als?/What if?) to the hilarious misadventures of a misfortunate gymnastics teacher in Ville Pirinens “Het gebeurde ergens…” (It somewhere happened). Not to mention Tommi Musturi, Emmi Valve en Petteri Tikkanen (who was responsible for the great cover).
