Impressive 3-piece anthology of the photography of Annette Frick. Black & White brilliance in all aspects! This lady was awarded the Ellen-Auerbach-Stipendium für Fotografie by the Akademie der Künste in Berlin in 2018 and is finally recognized these days via various major exhibitions.
Frick has been, since the 1990s, documenting Berlin’s subcultures, most notably the internationally connected Queer Community, but also the structural changes in the city after Die Wende. “Masken der Identität” portrays queer artists and activists, highlighting their struggle as well as their Lebenslust.
Three paperback books, held together with a colourful Casabaubou banderole, 750 pages in total, with full-page photographs. Size 19,5 x 25,5 cm.
