Really nice post-punk band from Kursk, Central Russia. They’ve been around for about 15 years in various line-ups, but with bassplayer Pinia as the constant member of the group, and name bands like Les Halmas (Switzerland), Moorpaul (Germany), H.O.M. (Russia) & The Stranglers (uhmm?) as influences. IsitIndia? is from 2005 when they were a trio of Leps (drums, bass), Semenova (vocals, keys), and Pinia (bass, vocals, tuba, keys). The songs are short, to the point, and convincing, with much room for humour & playfulness but with elaborate arrangements and unexpected twists. The 12 songs are first sung in Russian and then the whole set follows with English lyrics which is really nice because you get a funny type of English sometimes. The last song is a NoMeansNo cover: Metronome.
