Torture Corpse - Third Human Sacrifice to Samhain
Torture Corpse, Dutch master of filthy atmospheres and scathing sonic assaults released this unsual format (6.66 inch clear polycarbonate, what’s in a number…) on the wayward Auris Apothecary label from Bloomington, Indiana. It’s a bleak and unholy audio ritual in honor of Samhain, the ancient pagan holiday celebrating the end of the harvest year through bonfires and slaughter of animals and humans alike. Torture Corpse’s signature harsh buzzing is present, yet reserved, and serves as a droning foundation before blasphemous incantations in a foreign tongue appear over top, inciting the climactic end. Playing time is just under 5 minutes and it’s only one side. Both the record and the sleeve are clear with imagery screenprinted on them, to guide you in your own Samhain rituals.
