Inside the beautiful cover showing a Persian anatomical illustration from the 18th Century is a wonderful compilation of contemporary music featuring the traverso flute. Polish virtuosa Maja Miro-Wisniewska stars in works mainly made in the 2000s, by Murray Barsky, Miranda Driessen, Katarzyna Szwed, Merijn Bisschops, Maciej Jablonski and Allison Cameron. Joining her are two other traverso players, a baroque violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord. Published in 2017 by a Polish publisher called Wood and Mood. In between the pieces a certain Katrazyna Z. Michalska apparently tells short stories about the art of breathing, but alas.. it’s all in Polish..
